Micah chapter 2 verse 11. If a man should go about an utter wind and lies, saying,

0:12.2

I will preach to you of wine and strong drink, he would be the preacher for this people.

0:18.4

What a verse! On a commentary on both the people in Micah's day and false prophets in Micah's day.

God is saying through a faithful true prophet Micah that his people just want to hear what they

0:35.2

want to hear, they want to be encouraged and comforted to continue living for the prosperity of

0:42.7

this world instead of being confronted and corrected in ways that would be pleasing to God.

1:56.2

which is not from God and the danger is when there are even people who call themselves the people

2:03.3

of God who are doing this. So God, we pray for your help in our lives for your salvation from our

2:12.2

own sinfulness. On a daily basis today, God, we pray that we would ignore your correcting,

2:22.5

rebuking, confronting Holy Spirit. Your correcting, rebuking, confronting Holy Word. God,

2:32.0

we pray for humility. Save us from pride that seeks to be comforted and encouraged in our sin

2:40.5

and in living for ourselves. God, to help us, we pray to hear your Word when it confronts us
