Hello, friends, thank you for joining us again today for this very special edition of

enjoying the journey. We're returning to Corinth today, and we are going to visit our friends

Aquila and Priscilla. Acts chapter number 18 is where we're introduced to them.

We found in our introductory study to this series that

this husband and wife were committed to Christ and they were committed to one another. They

were committed to serving the Lord together. You know, as you research through the New

Testament, the record of Aquila and Priscilla, you find that at times Aquila is mentioned first, and at other times

Priscilla is mentioned first. That's interesting, isn't it? I wonder why that would be. Did you know that

in ancient custom, it was rare to even find the wife's name? So it's beautiful to see them serving the

Lord together. The Apostle Paul would write in one

place that in Christ there is neither male nor female. That doesn't mean there's no distinction

between male and female. There certainly is. But it means that in Christ, we have been

made partakers of the same salvation. We have a common faith.

We have Christ in common.

You know, many false religions beat women down and demean them and belittle their roles.

But everywhere Jesus went, he honored women, and everywhere the Christian faith has advanced,

and the gospel has been preached,

women have been raised to a place of honor and usefulness in the Lord's work.

Peter would even talk about being heirs together of the grace of life.

And I believe the Quill and Priscilla are a beautiful example of that.
