Summary

For generations, her family has carried a hidden ability—a sensitivity to the unseen, passed mostly through the women. From the time she was four, she could see colors around people and sense the presence of spirits. But nothing prepared her for the dream she had just before her sixteenth birthday: signs covering the house, balloons everywhere, and her aunt—alive and in a casket at the same time. The next day, that vision unfolded in real life—right down to the balloons, the signs, and her aunt’s unexpected passing. Decades later, she still lives with this ability, sometimes using it to help others, sometimes wishing she could turn it off.

0:30.9	when I was four years old. I would talk about colors that were surrounding people, the different colors that I would
0:38.7	see. And my grandmother, who also had ability, taught me to be hesitant to talk about what I
0:43.4	could see with anyone outside of our family. She was very timed about it, but she let me know
0:48.8	that anybody outside of our family may frown upon that or look down on me if I discussed it outside of us.
0:57.8	My earliest memory of seeing spirits was when I was six.
1:01.6	I would see them everywhere and I actually still do.
1:05.2	They're around us everywhere.
1:07.0	The story I'm going to tell you today is one that took place when I was 16.
1:12.9	It was a few days before my 16th birthday, and I had a dream that I came home from school.
1:18.2	And when I walked in, I could see signs hanging up on the front porch and all around my house.
1:23.3	In my dream, I couldn't read what those signs said.
1:27.5	And then upon entering the kitchen, my grandmother and my aunt were sitting in the kitchen looking over a casket.
1:35.5	But what was weird was that my aunt was sitting in a chair across from my grandmother, but she was also in the casket.
1:42.9	So it was just, it was really strange.
1:45.1	But there was also balloons filling the entire house.
1:49.2	The next morning I told my grandmother about my dreams the day, um, it was about the day
1:53.4	before my birthday when I finally told my grandmother about my dream.
