I'm going to try doing this with the dogs wrestling in the backroom.

I'd hope to tell you a story about Bitty in the coming weeks, but it simply isn't ready

to put out into the world.

I can't quite hear what she's trying to tell me about the 200-year-old farmhouse in

Sherborn, and it's demonically oppressed inhabitants.

So I'm going to give us both a break.

I know from past efforts that when I flail and shove a story into being I regret it.

Part of the reason I'm having a hard time connecting with Bitty is because I'm happily

awaiting comments on the cul-de-sac, as it intrams its way towards someday making it to

you in a pretty hardcover package.

On top of that, I've got a good star Anahudanah about a group of old friends whose past

mistakes have come home to roost.

Between the two stories, there are over 20 characters talking to me, gossiping about

one another, and spilling all sorts of secrets, and I know that's why I can't hear what

Bitty is trying to tell me right now.

It could also be these dogs.

So we've decided to go our separate ways for the summer.

She's a Lake Winnipezaki girl, and I'm scrambling for our week on the Untucket.

We're going to meet back up in the fall for a pumpkin spice latte, when our minds are

clear and the high-holy season is in full swing.
