Summary

This week, a few people take me to task for not answering questions properly (I have addressed them in this week’s podcast) and we also talk about nymph/adult size and color correlation in insects, how to carry a second rod, using poly leaders, whether keeping gear in a hot car will hurt it, and a bunch of other questions. But the main event is a long conversation with Steve Hollensed from Texas on his secrets to largemouth bass fly fishing in big lakes. Just to pique your interest, they are not always in deep water during the day, and fly selection is probably the least important decision you make. So download this week’s episode and relax in an easy chair, cut the lawn, or make this week’s commute a little more tolerable.

I often fish the White Mountains and rim country of Arizona and streams and

0:46.2

creeks up there and have at times strung up two rods. One usually a dry dropper type setup and the second one more of maybe a five or six weight

0:56.8

with a streamer set up and they've tried to fish working upstream dry dropper and then maybe work the same runs going back

1:05.8

downstream with the streamer set up and at times this has worked and at other times

1:10.8

I've been frustrated with tangling up two rods where I could have just

1:14.9

tangled up one.

1:16.1

So I wanted to get your thoughts on that.

1:19.4

I'm still torn on it, whether it's worth all the extra hassle, and and want to see what your thoughts were and if

1:26.3

there's anything that you had to say about that. Again, thanks a lot for the

1:29.8
