Well, Jenny, for your first episode, we are throwing you in the deep end as we go swimming with sharks swimming with sharks that doesn't

sound very safe well there's a lot about these animals that we don't know and as it's shark week we thought

what better time to try and uncover some of the secrets of sharks.

Okay, Michael, I'll take your word for it. After you.

Right, diving equipment on, it's time to go underwater. This is Mysteries of Science. So Michael, how much do you know about sharks?

Not a lot, actually.

Most of what I know comes from movies and cartoons,

and that famous image we have of a shark's dorsal fin sticking out of the water as it

ominously circles around some poor stranded swimmers. You know what? That's the image I have of

sharks too, but is that really what they're like? Well, Jenny, everything you or I know about sharks

is wrong. Now, those aren't my words, but rather the words of Dr. Nick Crompton, author of

Everything You Know About Sharks is Wrong, which was recently our book of the month in the

Wheat Junior Science and Nature magazine. So why don't we ask him to tell us a little bit more
