We have a special episode for you here today.

I am your host to Ann Gripper and a few weeks ago I was left wondering how I should

address an email to Debrets. They are the arbiters of society and etiquette and normally I would just start an email

hi but is that really appropriate when you are addressing this kind of esteemed organ anyway

however I wrote the email it it all turned out okay.

And I am now joined by Rupert Weston,

who has kindly said he will talk us

through a bit of society and etiquette

and answer some brilliant listener questions.

So Rupert, welcome to the show.

Hello and thank you very much for inviting me along.

So how did you end up at DeBretz? What is your, what is your credentials as an arbiter of these matters.

Goodness me. I've had a career of two halves and the first half of my career was in the army.

I was an officer in the British army and I was lucky enough to serve all over the world.

And when I left the military I got into the space of training, of coaching, of education, management leadership, all of that good stuff.

And then started conversations with DeBretz who, in addition to publishing

a peerage, much of which later, they have a part of the business that is involved in that space in coaching, educating, training, for want to better word, and it was just a perfect match for me. And so with my

experience of the military have a good knowledge of the intricacies of British and indeed

international etiquette, but it's also a love and a value of training

people, of educating people and explaining how these things that I've picked up in my life can help everybody else in their life.
