With almost 5 million visitors every year, it's fair to say that a lot of eyeballs have been fixed on New York Statue of Liberty sensor completion in 1886.

But despite the number of people that flock to Liberty Island, very few know about the shocking

secrets this statue holds. Before its assembly, specially chosen items put into a time capsule

were placed under where the

Statue of Liberty stands. The memorabilia included a copy of the U.S. Constitution, 20

bronze medals of U.S. presidents, and even a portrait of Frederick Auguste Bartoldi, the sculptor

responsible for the statue itself. No one's accessed the time capsule since the statue was erected, and it's believed that it'll only be accessible if Lady Liberty is torn down.

Some eagle-eyed visitors swear the raised foot cast a shadow that looks uncannily

like a hidden door concealing that very time capsule. Several very eager internet conspiracies
