all. Let's get to the word. Our foundational text for tonight lives in Genesis chapter 32.

Genesis chapter 32, we're going to read a few verses.

Our reading launches at verse 22.

It says that night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants

and his 11 sons and crossed the Ford of Jabuk.

After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all of his possessions.

So Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.
