Good evening from New York. I'm Chris A. As we've got new evidence tonight, the special

council prosecuting Trump for his willful retention of classified materials is not done

with his investigation. It's notable because it's been more than a month since Donald Trump

was quite infamously arrested and reigned inside of Miami Federal Courthouse. And while

Trump and his valet co-defendant face a 38-count indictment, multiple outlets reporting

today, the prosecutors are threatening new charges against another Trump employee in their

investigation into potential efforts to obstruct their probe. ABC News reports, quote,

special counsel Jack Smith, in recent weeks transmitted a target letter to the staffer, indicating

that he might have purged himself during a May appearance before the federal grand jury

hearing evidence in the classified documents probe. The target letter to the employee,

Donald Smith's growing interest in the Trump's organization's handling of the surveillance

footage and potential efforts to avoid sharing it with investigators.

ABC News is not independently verified this reporting. And I should note here, a target

letter does not mean that you've been charged with a crime or that necessarily well. Instead,

it lets the subject investigation know they are a target. They are facing the possibility

of an indictment. ABC reached out to the employee to ask about the report in target letter.

He told them, quote, it's none of your business, which will maybe be the case if until he's

ever charged. New York Times reported in May that Jack Smith's team was zeroing in on

whether Trump and some of his aides sought to interfere with prosecutors' attempts to

attain that security camera footage from Mar-a-Lago. This employee reportedly gave testimony

regarding the Mar-a-Lago surveillance tapes and conversations with other Trump employees
