| 0:39.9 | So I have it, I'll get it out for you. schedule is coming up this week, if you haven't noticed, Thursday night, or if you haven't |
| 0:37.6 | heard, Thursday night, 8 o'clock, it'll be released. So I'll get it out for you as ASAP, trust me on that. And, you know, we can analyze it and talk about it and just see what it is. And again, like, we already know who they're going to play, but it's always fun to find out what the schedule is, because it makes the season feel just a little bit closer than what it is right now. So there you go. That's |
| 1:00.0 | all I got on the schedule stuff. But coming up this week, that's it. And then I'll have another |
| 1:03.6 | podcast out Tuesday night slash Wednesday. If you didn't hear my interview with Rand Carthon, |
| 1:08.6 | go back and give it a listen. He was really good talking about guys of interest to Washington, also the commander's offseason. He knows Adam Peters very well. He worked with him to San Francisco, but he also knows some of these players very well. So go back and give that a listen for sure. So today, I'm going to talk a little bit more about the rookies based off the mini camp and not so much more observations, but just some more thoughts on some of these guys. I don't have to go into great detail in all of them. However, there are a couple things that still stand out to me that I'm just a little bit intrigued by. So I'm going to talk up a little bit about that with two guys in particular. One's an undrafted guy. One of course is, well well not of course you don't know who i'm talking about |
| 1:44.2 | but one is joshua joseph so uh let's start there may as well because i like that pick because of what |
| 1:51.2 | i saw from him just watching his game after they chose him knowing knowing a little bit about him |
| 1:57.2 | before the draft but then focusing on on more after the draft and how I think |
| 2:00.9 | he could fit in this defense. And I think it's, to me, he's a perfect developmental pick. I don't know if he's going to develop in anything, but I think he's the kind of guy. He's got length and he's got good quick, good quick get off. And that was one of things I was watching, like, why wasn't he more productive tendency, well, maybe he needs to add some play strength. I think that could |
| 2:20.6 | definitely be it. But I think when you look at the length and the get-off, I think he gives a good feel for what he could possibly develop into. And again, it's develop as a key word. Having traits is great, but it takes way more than traits to get a guy from point A to point B. And I always go back to Brian Mitchell. He was a fifth round pick himself. And I always go back to this because to me it's the absolute right mindset you have to have. And I remember talking him about this one time and said, when I got there as a fifth round pick, some people get drafted. They think they made it. He goes, I thought I just started. That was just the beginning of it. And you have to have that mindset. That's why that guy made it as long as he did. And it's why he is someone who should be in greater consideration for the Hall of Fame for sure. So anyways, whether or not Joseph does all that, I don't know. The whole point of that is it takes more than traits. But I do like what I've seen, what I saw of him on film. And when you watch him a little bit out there, I couldn't focus a ton on him. I know somebody posted some video of his workouts from like another side of the field that we weren't able to get to. So it's a team posting that and what you see there what you saw just a little bit when I was watching them is just the |
| 3:26.4 | get off but you see there, what you saw just a little bit when |
| 3:25.3 | I was watching them is just the get off. But you can't tell when you're measuring it against rookies |
| 3:29.6 | or other rookies or what they're doing it. It was also in some special team drills. I just like |
| 3:33.9 | the way he moved. I think there's a fluidity to his movement. And one of the things that Dan Quinn |
| 3:38.3 | talked about with him was that they liked him is the length and the ability to rush or to drop. |
