Hello and welcome to the Rota Wire Fantasy Baseball podcast. My name is Chris Crawford.

0:06.7

Today is July 1st, a very happy Bobby Bania Day for those who celebrate and for those who realize it's just a day.

0:13.0

I appreciate that too. I am joined by my buddy Drew Silva. Today we're going to be doing something fun.

0:18.8

We are going to be redrafting and that's, I know, something that a lot of you get a kick out of. So first half of the season is essentially over. We're going to draft our top players, the guys that we think are going to be performing the best over the second half of the season. But first, we did want to talk about a little bit of a trade that happened. A Raldus Chapman traded.

0:38.9

We didn't think that a Rolus Chapman necessarily would be a big transaction acquisition in the year of 2023.

0:46.8

But he is.

Chapman has been really good, Drew, and joins a team that,

1:11.3

It should be a very active trade deadline in that regard with so many haves and have-nots around the league and the smarter end of the have-nots, you know, shedding bullpen parts for young talent.

1:22.7

It's the right thing for them to do.

1:24.7

And even sort of the middle ground teams trying to make a push,

1:27.7

like there's there's so much need for relief help at the top of the divisional

1:32.5

and the wildcard standings that the lower end already out of it clubs should take

1:37.4

advantage of that. And Chapman isn't maybe the unhittable high leverage force that he was in his prime with the Reds and the

1:45.9

Yankees, but he had bounced back to a significant degree this year in Kansas City,

1:51.5

flashing some of that old form right now at 2.45 ERA, 53 strikeouts in 29 and a third

1:58.5

innings. He's been on a dominant run in recent weeks.

2:01.7

There are a lot of walks this year that the command has faltered in recent seasons,

2:06.2

and there are some lingering durability concerns with Chapman,
