Longtime head coach Pete Carroll stepped down and took a role in the front office. Mike Macdonald, who spent nine of the last 10 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, the last two as their defensive coordinator steps in to take over for Carroll. Ryan Grubb who took the Washington Huskies to the National Championship game as their offensive coordinator, come to Seattle for the same position. Geno Smith is still likely the starting quarterback but the team traded for Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell to bring competition and backup for Geno. Geno’s offensive weapons all return with wide receivers DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba coming back along with running backs Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet. Tight ends Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson both chased bigger money in Los Angeles while Noah Fant re-signed with the team and they drafted Michigan tight end AJ Barner. The Seahawks' secondary takes a big hit losing safety’s Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs. The team signed Rashawn Jenkins in free agency to help close that gap.
