Hey everyone, this is your host, Chelsea Weber Smith, announcing American hysteria's Season

3 premiere coming next Monday, February 17th.

For the next several months, we're doing something just a little bit different.

We're going to explore our most ingrained beliefs, delusions, and archetypes, how cognitive

dissonance shapes our culture, and how our reality is created by the stories we tell, especially

the stories we tell ourselves.

This means that we're diving into what I consider more long-term hysterias, the things

we think, and the things we do without thinking.

We're covering some really interesting subjects this season, like the American symbol of the

burger, the history of suburbia and its creepy qualities, archetypes like hipsters and

red necks, topics like masculinity and death, and even our modern outrage culture itself,

and what all these different things say about the psychology of American culture.

Yet again, we're trying to give you the forgotten histories of our most important delusions,

what they mean, and sometimes the dire impacts they have.

Our whole team is so excited to come back for our season 3 as an independent podcast,

and this season's going to be a real one, y'all.
