Hey y'all, you knew I wasn't gonna leave you hanging, didn't you?

It is June 15th and in one week's time, on June 22nd, Love Arburt and Reads returns

for season number nine.

I have been reading some incredible work recently thanks to your suggestions and some amazing

new story collections that have been released this year and I gotta tell you this season,

I have found myself gravitating to stories about secrets, to how they weigh on us, what

it feels like to unburden yourself of a secret.

What's it like when you can't?

In this season's stories, we'll visit with a deposed prince who is now living a much simpler

life in a fifth story walk up in Moscow.

We'll go to the Philippines in the near future to witness a miracle during a city-wide

festival and we will wind our way through a bizarre in Cairo after hours.

I'll find new characters that will challenge me as a performer, including guess the role

of a sentient parrot.

And that's all coming up this season with stories from Robert Olin Butler, Anjali

Satchdevah and Isabel Yap among others.

There's a little sneak peek of one of those stories coming called the Bank of Burkina Faso.

One knows that one was a good ruler when even in exile, a cursed, dishonored, one still

has a loyal servant who remains, despite the tattered cuffs and disgrace, despite the wax

splotches covering the surface of the desk-like lichen on tombstones.

Remains by one side and lights the candles when darkness coagulates, cold and bitter outside

of one's window.
