Summary

It has been SO beautiful to get to share these songs (and stories behind the songs!) but most importantly, the truth imbedded in them! Today we are going to look at “For Your Splendor,” a new version of a tried and true song that is deeply personal to me. I’d even venture to say that it’s quintessential when it comes to my sound and heart as a worshiper!

It is from Isaiah 61, and we’ll come around the vital posture of being planted in the Lord, and staying deeply connected to Him at our roots! Even though we might feel small, even cold and bare, we can be assured that we’ll still be standing in the storm! I’ll talk to you soon!

I'm so incredibly grateful and excited to share the rest of these songs with you this spring and they have served as the most beautiful

backdrop for just going deeper together.

I hope you felt that and in discovering the glorious things of God right in the middle of the mundane. Well I know in the last episode we left

1:16.9

off with coming around the song Be loved and I went out on a limb a little bit and

1:22.1

even challenged you to specifically ask the Lord

1:26.2

to show you a glimpse of his face shining on you.

1:30.7

His face turned towards you, which the scriptures say go hand in hand with him being

1:35.6

gracious to us and giving us the peace that only he can give. Some of you might

1:41.5

have found that to be a bit wonky and awkward to ask of him.

1:47.0

Maybe your heart and your mind just seemed a bit cloudy and it was hard for you to picture God being gracious towards you, his face turned

1:55.4

towards you. I very much get this. I believe it's why Paul prayed for us in

2:00.4

Ephesians 118. I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope of his calling the riches of his glorious inheritance in the has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2:29.6

This verse is pointing to the power of the gospel in that when we believe God shines in our hearts the ability to see his glory in the face of his son.

2:41.0

I can look back on many seasons in my life where I had great clarity on this.
