The prosecution alleged that in November 1994 13 year old James Watson was exhibiting a grotesque interest in the subject of child murder generally including things he said to his own mother.

The jury were told two witnesses had seen Ricky and Watson together playing truant on the morning of the day he disappeared.

When we reviewed the re-open the case in 2015 we were committed to finding the person responsible for Ricky's untimely death and ensuring that they were brought to justice.

Following an intensive and detailed investigation with several challenges and legal obstacles we now know what happened to Ricky on that day.

But today finally Ricky's loved ones got what they've waited so long for.
