| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the currently reading podcast. We're two bookish best friends who spend time |
| 0:13.2 | every week talking about the books that we've read recently. And you should know we will |
| 0:17.6 | not shy away from having strong opinions, so be ready. I'm Meredith Mendes Schwartz, |
| 0:22.2 | a mom of four, and full-time CEO living in the San Francisco Bay Area. And books have been my escape |
| 0:28.4 | since age four. And I'm Katie Cobb, a homeschooling mom of four who are all aged eight and under. |
| 0:33.8 | We live in New Mexico, and I read so that my kids don't make me lose my mind every day. This is |
| 0:38.8 | episode number three, and we're so glad you're here. All right, Katie, I am so glad that we are |
| 0:44.1 | in episode three. This is getting more and more fun as we go along. So, okay, let's start with our |
| 0:50.5 | bookish moment of the week. Do you have one? What was your your your highlight of this last week? |
| 0:55.9 | So I was thinking about this earlier this morning, and I was super excited to remember the |
| 1:02.8 | the amazing gift that one of my husband's old patients gave to us. It is a collection of great |
| 1:10.0 | illustrated classics books. And the reason it was such a special gift for me and the reason it came |
| 1:14.9 | up this week is because my son was going through them today trying to pick what book he wanted to |
| 1:21.4 | take with us on our road trip that we're leaving for today. And and I remember doing the exact |
| 1:28.4 | same thing when I was his age with our collection of great illustrated classics at my parents' house. |
| 1:34.0 | So it was just a super fun way to like connect his childhood reading experience to mine. |
| 1:40.2 | And they're a really fun set of books that are they're abridged, so they're easy for like |
| 1:46.0 | younger readers to get into. And and they have like one of everything seriously. Oh wow. |
| 1:52.2 | So this gift was so special from my patient or my patient, my husband's patient. And when I opened |
| 1:59.4 | it and cried, of course I was pregnant, so that probably had so much to do with it. But as we were |
| 2:05.3 | going through, I actually found out that this collection she gave us has a duplicate in it. |
| 2:11.4 | So we have two copies of the great illustrated classics version of Robin Hood. |
