Hey Raiders, welcome to the Currently Reading Podcast. We are bookish best friends who spend

0:15.8

time every week talking about the books that we've read recently. And as you already know,

0:20.4

we do not shy away from having strong opinions, so get ready.

0:23.9

We're lying on the chit chat, having the book talk and our descriptions won't always

0:27.6

be spoiler free. Today, we'll discuss our current reads, a bookish deep dive, and then we'll

0:32.5

visit the found. I'm Katie Cobb, a homeschooling mama for living in New Mexico, and I'm thanking my

0:38.3

past self for great pre-orders. And I'm Mindy Browse, mom to seven, living with earbuds in all the

0:44.2

time while homeschooling in the mountains outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. And I think there should be a

0:48.9

special separate carry-on bag for books that doesn't count as luggage. This is episode number 11 of

0:55.0

season five, and we are so glad you're here. That's right, Mindy A, we are so glad you're here,

1:00.4

and B, you are packing for a very special trip. I am. I am. That happens to be my bookish

1:06.9

moment of the week. I'm sure you're not surprised by that at all. Well, I'm very excited to get into

1:11.5

that. But I have a quick question, which is, do you bring a lot of paper books on planes or, like,

1:16.8

why would you need a special carry-on just for books? Because I don't feel like you're a huge paper

1:21.3

reader. I'm not, but I try to do that on planes because it's the one time that I know I can sit

1:26.7

and not be interrupted. You know, I mean, one of my issues with paper books is the people here

1:32.1

wearing their responsibilities and all the interruptions, and that's why audiobooks are my

1:37.0

jam. But for a plane, especially because I'm traveling alone, it's a perfect time for me to sit

1:43.9

unerrupted with the paper book. I love that. And that actually kind of plays into our deep dive.

1:48.9

For later, we're going to talk about what it's like to read with guests in your house. How to

1:53.7

balance having people over being an extrovert, like both of us are, and meeting time to yourself

1:59.9

to read as well. So I'm excited to talk about that. But first, Mindy, I cannot wait to hear about
