Welcome to the recap for the Road of Shadows Season 4.

This is a short summary of events that occurred in the previous season.

Daniel returns to the town of Oakwood after many years and recalls a traumatic past encounter

with a shadow named Jeffrey Lee who once threatened his life.

Late at night he and Amber encountered Jeff and Daniel strikes him down,

but strangely, Jeff lies bleeding in the alley rather than disintegrating as previous shadows have

done at the touch of Daniel's axe. Consumed and confused, they leave the scene and return the next

morning. I need to find that Jeff's body is missing. Soon after, Daniel and Amber are confronted by

Vicky, who claims to be Jeff's sister. She has been informed that Jeff may have returned to town after a long absence. When they return to their lodgings, Daniel and Amber receive a phone call from a man named Roderick, who informs them that he is not only the author of the compendium, but a fellow Nostrama. He also tells them that Jeff was a hollow skin, an entity that exists

halfway between the human world and the world of the shadows. Once, Jeff had been human, but was

later corrupted by a shadow and turned into a puppet. Roderick advises that the Nostrama

should leave town, since the Oakwood shadow is especially dangerous. Daniel and Amber refuse,

and decide to try tracking down the shadow

themselves. They learn of a young woman named Christina who went missing several years

ago. After visiting Christina's mother Grace, they gather some clues and manage to stumble

across Christina on the edge of town. Amber is confused by Christina's appearance and becomes

adamant that it is in fact her missing sister Jenny. After more

research, Daniel and Amber team up with Roderick and make their way deep into the woods

where the Oakwood Shadow, a creature named Argus, lives in a mansion with his hollow skin puppets.

They fight off the hollowskins, including Christina, and Amber finally realizes that Argus had been

manipulating her thoughts. The three-ness drama confront Argus in his den,

and together they are able to strike him down.
