Finally, we're back to shed more light on the surprising stories behind our homes.

This season, we're going to uncover some hidden elements that make up the places we live.

You could use it to make furniture. You could use it to frame houses, you could use it for utility

poles again at time when the country is electrifying.

It was literally used cradle to grave, literally cradles to coffins.

How often do you think about air?

You couldn't live without air, but you don't walk around every day going, wow, it's so great

that we have all this air.

But once you sort of start thinking, huh, concrete and looking around, it is absolutely everywhere.

We'll take a look at the stuff inside your house.

The bigger story is that regardless of what we do, there is going to be life in our houses.

And so the question that really comes back to us is, which life do we want?

The idea was to make this room where you do the unthinkable inside your house as comfortable and presentable as possible

and to try to get you to forget what you're doing in there.

And we'll imagine how we might live in the future.

We're going to Mars. There's absolutely no question.

It's an issue of life and death, really.

You know, you don't want direct sunlight in your Mars habitat because that means high doses of radiation. We're very delicate little

bags of water and organic molecules, and we just don't stand up to these conditions very well.
