And this is where I'm going to focus the second season.

What is happening at today's intersection of the political economy and technology? I deliberately use the phrase political economy because it captures

the essence of where we'll see the fault lines and where we'll see the opportunities.

The relationships between the individual and society and between firms, markets and the state,

the role that innovation plays as well as the way in which the political process gets

shaped and shapes these are so present in today's discussion about technology.

The idea of the political economy emerged in the late 18th century with the work of

thinkers like Adam Smith and David Hume and David Ricardo amongst others.
