Hey, all you beautiful people and welcome to the glorious and the mundane podcast. I am your host, Christy Dockles, and this is a place where we gather

and remember together that God's witness with us, even on our most ordinary days, is our true

reality. And his plan for our lives is that we will experience his unending love in a way that

names us and defines us, and that the glorious things of his heart

would become real and relatable to us in our everyday lives.

I really do pray that this podcast finds you restful, maybe even unplugging a little bit,

or at least making plans to. As some of you might

have seen, our Annie Rose, our youngest, she turned 18 last week. And her birthday concluded our

month of celebrations. That is always the month of June for us. We've got Nathan's birthday.

We have Father's Day, of course,

and then our anniversary is right in the middle of the month, right after Father's Day,

and then Annie's birthday comes in last. And that night of her birthday, I kind of collapsed down onto the bed, and Nate was like, you made it. And that's how poured out I want to be,

you know, celebrating my people. But goodness, when I do get to the end of June, July always feels

like a welcomed summer break in many ways. Over the last 15 years, our July always holds this sweet tradition of getting

to lead worship for blue skies. Many of you longtime podcast listeners know that Blue Skies is a ministry

who provides beach retreats for families who have kids in treatment for cancer. And the hope is that these families

get lifted above the clouds of pediatric cancer and up into the blue skies, truly, of God's hope.

We get to share the gospel with these families. We get to help them lean into the love of God.

We get to literally be the love of God to them.

It is so life-giving for us. And of course, we hope that it is life-changing for these families.

This has been a place where our kids have loved to get to serve year after year. It's
