0:51.0	In this episode you'll meet Chuck Rowland. Chuck was one of five men who gathered in a Los Angeles apartment on November 11, 1950 to found the Madishing Society, a gay rights organization.
1:02.0	Madishing wasn't the a gay rights organization.
1:02.6	Madishing wasn't the first gay rights group in the US.
1:05.1	It was a very short-lived organization called the Society for Human Rights,
1:08.2	which was founded in Chicago in 1924,
1:10.5	but the Madishing Society lasted, and very quickly chapters spread along the west coast and across the country
