John, how are you doing today?

Mike, doing well.

I appreciate you having me out there in South Florida.

Yeah, absolutely.

And you're the guy to talk to right now because of Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, round one, selected Chris Johnson, a cornerback out of San Diego State.

And it's not often a player from San Diego State gets drafted in round one.

Is there a lot of excitement around the program with this news with Chris Johnson now going in round one?

Tons.

It's the highest elected Aztec since Rashad Penny went to the Seahawks,

27th overall also back in the 2018 draft. He was a top five Heisman finalist, the tailback

out of San Diego State. The Aztecs have a really proud history, especially on defense and

with their tailbacks. But their secondary has been really good. They produced a lot of NFL quality cornerbacks. Darren Hall was drafted to Monte Casey. He's been in the league for a good amount of time as well. And he's the next. Chris Johnson is the next in the line of what has been a really good pedigree of cornerbacks coming out of San Diego State. Yeah. And you're the voice of San Diego State football. If you were to tell fans the Dolphins, what type of player Chris Johnson is on the field,

how would you talk about his game?

I mean, he's sensational.

He's highly skilled.

He has no weaknesses.

He's excellent outsider inside.

He's terrific in the run game.

He takes advantage of opportunities.

He's a ball hawk with really good hands. Deceptively good speed. I mean, he ran a 4-4, and he's just a terrific cover corner, but he does so much more than that. I don't think there's any weakness in his game. I think some of the criticism is that he played in the Mountain West Conference for the last four years.
