This is Scripture Central's Come Follow Me Insights. Today, Romans 1 through 6.

This is the granddaddy of them all as far as the letters of Paul are concerned.

And you'll notice it comes first in its order in the Bible, not chronologically.

It's simply first because, as Taylor mentioned in a previous episode,

they put the 14 epistles that they attribute to Paul in their order based on length. And

Romans is the biggest one of all. And it also has become the most widely quoted among all of the books of the Bible by the

Protestant Reformation Movement and all of the religions and churches that have fallen under

the umbrella of that Protestant Reformation.

It's powerful here that we think about letter writing in the ancient world, because this

is a letter that Paul wrote to Roman Christian saints.

And there's a lot of letter writing we know about in the ancient world, but most letters

were quite short.

A really long letter might be about a thousand words. And this one is much, much

longer than that. And as we read, we'll see that not only is it very theologically rich

and deep, but there's also a lot of complexity packed in. And sometimes as we engage with Paul,

we might sometimes feel a bit lost because Paul is

trying to accomplish a variety of things, but uses several approaches to do it that sometimes
