Welcome back, Tom Hartman here with you so really big news.

We had thought that the Democrats had one chance for sure at passing a major piece of

legislation through this process called Budget Reconciliation which means that it is not

subject to a filibuster, it cannot be blocked by the Republican minority in the Senate.

We thought that they had one chance at that and that they used that one chance or one

chance for sure, that they used that one chance with the COVID relief package, the bill

that provided us with the checks and extended unemployment insurance and expanded healthcare.

I mean, just did a lot of really great stuff and there might have been a second opportunity

to use reconciliation because in 2020 you're supposed to be able to do it once a year

and in 2020 Congress never did it and apparently the Republicans were in charge back then

and they got their tax cut out of Trump in 2017 and then basically they just, you know,

what do you do when you paid $174,000 a year to govern but you have no interesting

governing and you don't believe in government.

You know, I get you get drunk, you take drugs, you have sex, you play golf one out of three

days when you were president.

By the way, at this point in time four years ago we had spent over a million dollars on

presidential golf trips almost all of it going to Trump properties.

We had not spent one penny for presidential golf trips at this point in time in the Obama

presidency or the George W. Bush presidency and we have not spent one penny on a presidential

golf trip in the Biden presidency.

It's kind of nice thing.
