Welcome to this special episode as we kick off women in horror month here in the dungeon.

I'm your host, of course, Jamie Gettie, and I am joined as always here in the dungeon by Chico Leo.

So as I said, February is two things.

Of course, it's Black History Month, and it's also Women in Horror Month.

So our theme this month in general is to just kind of highlight women in horror,

to highlight black horror, and to kind of intersectionalize the two whenever we

can. And we're going to do that on our Patreon as well. We're going to be giving you lots of posts

that kind of touch on the two things. So if you have not signed up for Patreon, please consider.

But we're going to kick things off by talking about single mothers in horror.

Single mothers are kind of a trope in horror, and I feel like there are lots of movies.

Of course, we're going to touch on many of them, which have to do with a mom and her kids.

But it's kind of interesting because I feel single moms get singled out.

Single dad's not so much. So we're going to kind of unpack that with a couple different movies chico you have any thoughts here yeah live a lot actually so one of the

things that's interesting is that single moms are both heroes and villains in in in horror they're not just on one side, which is interesting. And I guess you

could say they're also victims, but but not as much. I mean, they're usually either the hero or

the villain. And when when they're the villain,
