All right, this is Tom Gresham. It is time for a very infrequently done additional

podcast because some news just broke in the last 24 hours that we really need to talk

about and that is of, of course, the announcement

of the resignation of Justice Kennedy

from the Supreme Court.

A huge decision means an awful lot. We kind of expected it. We knew it was going to happen with somebody.

One of the Supreme Court justices, we weren't sure which one. Of course, Kennedy is not the far left side of the bench.

He's really been considered the swing vote.

That's the term you hear all the time, the swing vote.

But that means it kind of goes this way or that way. On some cases he's been good,

as far as we look at things on some things maybe not so good.

What this does though is something that we ought to talk about. What does it

mean? And frankly I think we ought to talk about at least for a, the fact that this is exactly what the election was about

for so many of us. This is what voting for Donald Trump was about. This is what voting

against Hillary Clinton was about. You heard me talk about it

week after week after week on gun talk radio. This is about the courts. This is about the Supreme Court, it's about the lower courts. It's about the appellate courts. It's about federal courts. It's about judges. Judges, judges. This comes 10 years, almost to the day, 10 years after the Heller decision was handed

down by the Supreme Court, the Landmark Second Amendment case, which was a huge case, it was a very big

case, it was a monstrous win for us, but there have been

problems and the problems have been that lower courts have been ignoring it, not only

ignoring it, making fun of it, mocking it, thumbing their noses at the Supreme Court on the Second Amendment.

Basically saying, look, we're going to do what we want to do.

We don't think you were right.
