The Supreme Court has released several rulings today,

including a rejection of the nationwide settlement

with opioid maker Purdue Pharma.

In a five to four decision, the court ruled that the Sackler family cannot be shielded from future

legal action tied to opioid abuse.

The court found such protections violate bankruptcy laws.

The ruling also puts billions of dollars in opioid crisis relief in jeopardy.

Justices also ruled on abortion in Idaho.

In a 6-3 decision, the court ruled that hospitals in Idaho will be required to perform emergency abortions,

but avoided making a wider ruling on the subject due to other pending litigations.

In another decision, Skoda's blocked a Biden administration rule on interstate air pollution in a five to four decision.

The regulation was aimed at curbing harmful air pollution that crosses from one state to another and contributes to smog.
