The Supreme Court ruled that President Trump cannot send National Guard troops to Chicago to protect

ostensibly federal officers and buildings.

And gentlemen, this is, as we record this anyway, breaking news,

the Supreme Court on Tuesday, this is the, what is this, the 23rd of December, refused to

allow President Trump to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops in the Chicago area

over the objection of Illinois officials. So Illinois didn't want him to do it.

Trump wanted to do it. Casting doubt on the viability of similar deployments in other American

cities, the Justice's order, the Supreme Court Justice's order, is preliminary, but it blocks

the Trump administration for now, from ordering state-based military forces to the Chicago area to take part in an

immigration crackdown and arrest. It's a three-page unsigned ruling. However, there were some

objections that were written by Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch. And Alito wroteito wrote that quote the protection of federal officers from

potentially lethal attacks should not be thwarted meaning should not be thwarted by keeping the

the National Guard troops out of there under federal authority. Steve we find ourselves in an

unusual position as conservatives enthusiastic about much

of that which the Trump administration has done over the years. Now that you see that the Supreme

Court largely are favored by a majority that's a Trump appointees has slapped the president's wrist in essence and said, you don't

want to nationalize those forces and send them to Chicago.
