So I had Scott Turner on my podcast Friday. He spent like an hour with me. And so I'm going to

play back the parts where he talks about his time here as an offensive coordinator, even though

I've got to tell you there were some really good stories from his dad's time here in the games.

He's got a very good memory when it comes to everything that's happened here

while he's been here. Like I said before, Scott Turner grew up here. I mean, he lived in Dallas,

obviously, during his dad's years as the Cowboys offensive coordinator, winning Super Bowls.

But, you know, his teenage years, his high school years were spent here with his dad as the head coach from 1994 through 2000 before getting fired at the end of the 2000 season.

His father has a podcast with his sister.

And so it's something that, you know, actually I'm looking forward to listening because

Norv himself has always been incredibly reluctant.

I've tried to get Norv on the show for years.

I gave up several years ago because he was just very reluctant to talk about his days in Washington.

The name of the podcast, by the way, is the family business podcast.

It's with Norv and his daughter, Stephanie Turner.

And Scott is kind of helping promote that.

But anyway, long story short, I started off by asking Scott, at least in this particular, you know, 18-minute segment that I want to play for you, about the 2020 season, his first year, a season, obviously, that was incredibly tumultuous, you know, COVID, coach with cancer, you know, investigation after investigation into the owner and into the people

that were running the organization. And then we had a name change in the summer of 2020, et cetera.

And I started off by asking him when we got to the 2020 season, a season that did end in a division

title at 7 and 9 and a playoff loss at home against Tampa.

I went back to the portion of the season where Alex Smith was brought into play,

and I said, was there ever a moment before the season or early in the season

that you guys thought Alex Smith playing was a possibility?
