Hey, wonderfuls. Welcome to episode 336 with our boy of summer, Scott Thompson.

You may know him as one of the iconic members of the and all of us of course know that mass shootings continue to cause untold

trauma and heartache in the US and by the way worldwide we recorded this

episode before the recent events in Dayton and El Paso and around the 23 minutes and 40 seconds

mark Scott starts talking about his personal experience surviving a school shooting.

It's an extraordinary story.

He talks candidly about his experience and how he continues to process it, including the fact

that he's recently started talking about it and it's a stand-up and in a

screenplay that he just finished but because of that the interview contains some I

admit very dark humor that's one way of whistling in the dark as it were and again you know I'm extraordinarily

emotional if you listen to this podcast and very empathetic so I do not take

that lightly but this may be difficult for some people to hear it may be harder to listen to in light of recent events.

I just think it's really important to have this kind of open discussion and for folks to hear

Scott's adult perspective about what it's been like to go through life with

this trauma. That said, I love you guys if you want to sit this one out

because hearing this kind of discussion is going to do you more harm than good.
