Today I have the pleasure of introducing, I think, a real friend of Stanford and in Scott Cranes.

Scott has helped us out in a lot of research programs and in other ways over the years, so we appreciate his support.

Today, though, he's here in his capacity as president and CEO of Juniper Networks,

one of the big success stories in the Valley from the internet era,

and is now, I think, a pretty interesting competitive situation.

On the one hand, competing against companies like Cisco,

and on the other hand competing against some startups.

So Scott's going to share, I think, a little bit about his journey,

what it was like to start a company,

and then maybe what it's like to compete against other companies.
