Our world applauds people with a high IQ. And yet someone having a high IQ has zero value to me personally. It may have no value for that person or anyone. It merely says they have the possibility of capacity. It doesn’t mean they can or will do anything worthwhile with it, and even if they are brilliant and figure out how to live on Mars, they may be miserable and make everyone else miserable. So what is a better measuring stick for overall potential than IQ? I submit to you it is EQ. Emotional quotient. Or emotional intelligence. My guest today is an expert and cites that emotional intelligence as the single biggest predictor of our personal and professional success. Scott Allender is an expert in global leadership and organizational development.
