Summary

Iran has confirmed two of its highest ranking security officials have been killed in Israeli strikes.

US President Donald Trump appears to be frustrated again with NATO members, accusing them of making a "foolish mistake" by refusing to help secure the Strait of Hormuz.


Members of the Scottish Parliament have voted narrowly against legalising assisted dying in Scotland.


The outbreak of meningitis in Kent has been declared a national incident, after the deaths of a sixth-form pupil and a university student. Some 15 cases have been reported to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) so far. All required hospital admission.


The Conservatives are expected to force a vote in parliament on scrapping interest above inflation on student loans today.


And finally, Senegal have been stripped of the Africa Cup of Nations after misconduct in the final, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has ruled. The result will be recorded as a 3-0 win for Morocco, the tournament hosts.

So the first is security chief Ali Larajani reported to have been killed by Israel.
