Hi, everybody. Welcome to Scoop. I'm so glad to see you today. We got a lot of big stories to go over. And it's an exciting time to take a look at the final weeks of the year, which I can't believe we're actually here. We spent so much of the last several weeks, including the last scoop that we had, really focusing on what's going on inside of America. And this

week, we get a chance to sort of gaze outward as President Biden has been traveling over the last

several days. And there's a lot of focus on what's going on with foreign affairs, which has a

different tone to it now because of the midterm elections and some of the results, which we're going to talk about.

So it's a dark and stormy day in Texas. It feels a little bit like winter. I hope that that Scoop provides

you that lighter feeling of being able to stay current during this really busy season of life

so that you don't feel like you have to struggle to stay current. So this is my goal with scoop,

and I'm really glad you're here for it. And it's the perfect day to kind of cozy up, go over

some of the headlines, get you ready for the week ahead. And I'm really excited about this.

I had an unexpected experience over the weekend that I have to share with you because I can't

believe the overlaps between what I was able to see in our current news

cycle. So added nowhere, I mean, just on a whim, couldn't believe we could pull it off.

My husband and I went to New Orleans this weekend. And it wasn't to walk Bourbon Street and

replay Marty Grott. It wasn't anything because of that. You know, we have three kids,

eight, six, and three. Had to think about that for a second. So figuring out a way to get away is really, really hard. And I like to describe my children as wildly spirited. So we have really busy lives. This is very difficult to plan. And the fact that we were able to do this very last minute was sort of a miracle, to be quite frank. The reason why we decided to go to New Orleans, in part, was because we wanted to see the World War II Museum, which is one of the most well-known military museums in the entire world. We've heard a lot about it, but we've never been able to visit. And it felt like just the perfect thing to do on Veterans Day. Ironically, I don't actually have a picture

from there. I have a picture from the New Orleans streetcar to share with you because we didn't

take any pictures at the museum because quite frankly, it was so incredibly overwhelming. My husband,

as many of you know, is a veteran. He served in the U.S. Navy. He graduated from the Naval Academy,

went on to serve on the surface fleet, as well as serve as a Navy seal deployed multiple

times to war zones. And Veterans Day is an important day because it's a day that we can

celebrate those who served. But as any military family knows, any sort of military-related

holiday can be a little bit complicated
