Oh Andy it's really good to be on with you I'm a fan of yours. Thank you Bob and listen I genuinely this isn't a lie or

exaggeration. I was in work today and I just I was sorting out your bio and introduction. It was the

longest part of the interview to fix because looking through your CV, your LinkedIn, what you've done since a young age, it's very hard to pick just a few things so I hope the

introductions one done you justice too can I set you up it's more than enough

You've had one hell of a life.

I mean, from the get-go from your very earliest formative years, do you want to share with the

listeners and viewers a little bit about those kind of early years that were filled with some pretty

incredible events?

Yes, Andy, I'm happy to because I think it sets the right context for the rest of the conversation.

So I was born in Central, in Middle Tennessee in the southern part of the United States in 1954, and shortly

before my first birthday, my parents had made the decision to move to Alabama, but I got sick. I got cerebral encephalitis and had an extremely high temperature and I was in neonatal intensive care or whatever they called it back then for a while and the doctors were not hopeful.

They told my parents that I would survive as a vegetable or I wouldn't survive and probably the latter was

preferable but my parents would not allow them to move that along they insisted on

me being cared for and I have of course no memory of it but I had
