Hi, it's Peter Schweitzer and welcome to The Drill Down. Well, the government is shut down in Washington, D.C., yet again.

But could this situation be actually worse than people imagine?

We're going to talk about that today with Eric Eggers.

Eric, are you lacking any government services since the government has shut down?

No, I've been kind of living off the grid in a bunker with just leave to

beaver episodes on VHS that I watch that on a power grid that's run by hamster. So I'm fine.

Yeah, yeah. Well, my understanding is that a lot of government services, of course, are continuing.

They're shutting down things like park service and whatnot. But the first trigger is going to be

October the 15th. That's when military

payrolls are due and those will not be filled if the government is still shut down. And then on

October the 20th, other government workers have a payroll that's due. So those seem to be the
