Demonstrators led by a progressive Jewish group gathered to support Mahmoud Khalil,

the Palestinian activist, whom the Trump administration wants to deport.

About 1130, when all this started to unfold.

Now, as you mentioned, about 200 demonstrators organized by the group Jewish Voice for Peace.

You can hear them chanting there,

entering Trump Tower. That's the same area, actually, where President Trump first made the

announcement in a run for president in 2015. Police say that they came in from two different

entrances in dark coats, and they took off the coats, and they were all wearing red shirts with a lot of

them with the same saying, saying, bring Mahmood home now. Of course, they're referring to

Mahmoud Khalil, who was detained by ICE over the weekend. He's in Louisiana now, as his case

makes its way through the courts. They are upset that he's being detained. He's a Columbia

University grad student that was helped organize a lot of the pro-Palestinian protests on the Ivy League

campus there. He's married to a U.S. citizen, and he has not been accused of any crimes,

but Secretary of State has accused him of distributing Hamas materials

and organizing, of course, as we mentioned, a number of pro-Palestinian demonstration.

Now, police warned the demonstrators to leave.

They said three times, and those who did not were arrested.

Some students have either been expelled or suspended.
