All right, this is Alabama being Alabama, of course.

Alabama with the abortion laws and let's get as conservative as we can.

Now here is a good one. Alabama lawmakers are considering a bill. Actually, it already went 10 to 1 in the House of Representatives in Alabama.

Now it has to go through the other house. And it would require public schools to start the day with a pledge of allegiance per law.

And the Republican representative, Nathaniel Ledbetter, said some kids don't even know the pledge because they don't regularly recite it.

And here is the part where they think it's going to work, although it hasn't in similar

situations.

The bill requires school to conduct the pledge every morning.

It does not force students to participate.

Now, this same situation happened in prayer at school.

And of course, that was overturned.

And that mainly had to do with religion.

And that is the separation clause, or the separation of state and church.

This is a little bit different.

In those cases, the school board or the school

said, well, someone, when they stand up for prayer, and we do a prayer every day, a student can

elect not to because we're going to make it voluntarily voluntary.

Of course we can't force a student to engage in prayer, a religious event.

And so here's what we're going to do.

Here's the runaround is that student doesn't have to participate.
