Conrad starts the discussion talking about a debate

that he had in Canada about the US presidential election coming up here in a matter of weeks and he had an interesting

gentleman on the panel debating him and I'll let Conrad get to it.

I had a debate here last night for quite a large audience

and I was upholding the view that the Trump presidency was an opportunity for Canada and my the issue was a Trump victory would be an

opportunity for Canada. Now you can safely assume that in this country Trump is not everybody's ideal of the you know the perfect

American and and my partner in this if you can imagine it was Chris Christic who said I don't like him but of course it's an opportunity for you and and I never heard of a pro-Trump resolution

Actually winning a debate in this country, but we did win so you know who were your who were your opponents well

one was the former minister of finance John Manley who was a pretty good guy

because he's one of these he just flipped out saying anti-Trump things, you know, about, you know, the usual things.

And both Chris and I said, well, that's not the, that's not we're here to debate.

That is nothing to do with it.

We're trying to sell him like Dale Carnegie. We're talking about an opportunity.

And the other one was a former provincial legislator and a former candidate for federal

liberal leaders. She's now a department head at one of the

universities in Western Canada in Calgary. Both of them quite nice people and she
