Welcome to rates and barrels. It is Monday, July 31st, Derek Van Riper here with

0:18.9

Enosaris on this episode. We recap a busy weekend in trades. I think it was after we signed up on Friday that the Dodgers added a starting pitcher with Lance Lynn. A lot more happened in the days since then, so we'll break it all down from a fantasy perspective. We've got a few mailbag questions to squeeze in at the end of the episode as well.

But, you know, let's just go for it right off the jump. Max Scherzer is now a member of the

0:43.2

Texas Rangers. And because the Mets are the Mets under Steve Cohen, it was an unusual deal

0:49.8

in that they're eating a lot of money, which will actually save the money, as Ken Rosenthal

0:54.7

wrote about for the athletic. Luis Anhelecuna was the player going back to the Mets as part of the

1:01.7

1:34.8

He's got a nine year low in fastball v. low, career low in fastball spin, you know, the slider

1:42.9

vows down, you know, just basically the kind of stuff

1:47.0

that stuff captures it, and it's, you know, it's all down a little bit. The thing that I also

1:51.9

notice, though, is he has five pitches that are near average or better by Stuff Plus. He's

1:56.8

always been a guy that's outperformed to Stuff Plus a little bit with his moxie or his pitchability

2:01.8

uh pitchability plus

2:03.9

uh moxie plus through the charts

2:06.4

and um you know uh he's still

2:09.9

by our projections the top 15

2:11.9

guy by most projections still a really
