This week we will be embarking on yet another family road trip

reimagining the Griswolds of vacation. We like to head off across the country. We like to see the road.

We're going to do that again on this last minute spring break. We are going to see West Texas we're going to see big bend

Marfa the Davis Mountains we're going to see marathon and alpine we're going to see

the desert we're going to see the desert. We're going to see the far west. I'll be still hanging out with you throughout the week, posting podcasts and sharing with you our adventure. But today I want to share with you

something that I grew up with. I grew up reading the Dallas morning news, cover to cover, mostly focused on the sports section.

And there was a columnist named Blackie Sharad, who had a column called Scatter Shooting.

It was really Twitter before Twitter. It was Blackie's short, clipped, concise thoughts strung together in a newspaper column. He called it scatter shooting. And if nothing else,

it was an exercise in perfect branding, scatter shooting.
