In private practice, a criminal defense lawyer's job is to get their client off, using every tool available.

lawyers argue in court. I've seen some really great lawyers, some of the most famous argue in

the U.S. Supreme Court and in trial courts around the country. I've seen lawyers you've never

heard of deliver arguments that I wish, I just wish I could record and be half as good as they are. And in every

case, you see the lawyers as advocates for their clients. But, you know, there's one category of

lawyers who are supposed to be different. They are not supposed to be there to win at all costs.

They're not there to create alternative realities. They're not there to argue the law as aggressively as they possibly can and take every fact and fit it into their theory.

The people who don't fit in that category are federal prosecutors.
