This happened when I was 14, and my friend David was 15.

We had sleepovers all the time, and tonight was no different.

His parents weren't home, so we were being as loud as we wanted in the den,

playing video games and having music playing loudly,

while eating an unhealthy amount of junk food.

I'll skip most of the details in order to keep this story on the shorter side.

The music and video games continued until around 4 in the morning.

That's when we began to settle down.

David had the idea of taking a walk

around the neighborhood to help calm us down, and I agreed. We returned about 10 minutes later.

David's basement is kind of weird. I'll try to explain it here. His house has a bit of a hill

in his front yard, so half the basement was above

ground, which was where the den we hung out in was, and the other half was a room with a TV and

couches, which is where we were going to sleep. David turned on a movie and threw me in a blanket.

I got comfortable on the couch, closest to the basement staircase, and he slept on the

couch furthest from them across from me. I didn't watch the movie for long before falling asleep.
