Former President Donald Trump recently told Fox News that, hypothetically speaking, if he were ever to run for his old post again, Florida

Governor Ron DeSantis had a good shot at being his running mate.

I endorsed Ron, and after I endorsed him, he took off like a rocket ship. He's done a great job.

His governor, a lot of people like that, you know, I'm just saying what I read and what you

read. They love that ticket. But certainly Ron would be considered. It's a great guy.

But it's no secret that DeSantis is eyeing the White House for himself.

And this morning, Politico is learning something that could get in the way of staffing up a 2020-bid.

A long trail of disgruntled staffers.

More on that in a minute. But first, here's what everyone in Washington is up to today. The big theme this Friday is jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. The president will

receive the president's daily briefing at 10.30 a.m. But then an hour later,

Jobs Day kicks off with Biden pivoting to giving public remarks on the April jobs report at 1130

atm. At 1.45 p.m. Biden will receive his weekly economic briefing with VP Kamala Harris and meet

with his jobs cabinet at 3.15 p.m.

Meanwhile, Harris will host Mexican president Andreas Manuel Lopez Oprador for a virtual bilateral at 10 a.m.

The White House COVID-19 response team and public health officials are planning to brief at 10.30 a.m. Then press secretary

Jen Saki will brief at 1230 p.m. with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. The House will meet at 1030 a.m.

The Senate is out.

Back to DeSantis. First, why it matters that Politico is learning that not only does the governor have a high rate of turnover in his office, but once those staffers leave, they don't always have kind things to say. This could be a problem for DeSantis if he does decide to follow through with the 2024 White House run because it takes a big political

machine to mount a national campaign. And his record with former staffers means he could

have to do a lot of hiring from scratch. He's known to mostly rely upon himself and his wife,
