Jim and Vickie Barton, a Springboro, Ohio couple, owned and lived on a horse farm. Jim was lieutenant with the Springboro police department and Vickie was a nurse. In April 1995, Jim came home from work and found Vickie had been shot to death. The case went cold, but in 2003 a new investigative team discovered a portion of audiotape from Jim’s 911 call that revealed a discrepancy in his testimony. “48 Hours" correspondent Peter Van Sant reports. This classic "48 Hours" episode last aired on 6/10/2006. Watch all-new episodes of “48 Hours” on Saturdays, and stream on demand on Paramount+.
