A short episode about one thing which today could only be the fact that the actors are

on strike.

This afternoon's sag after the union represents all the film and TV actors in the US and also

they are growing on strike at midnight tonight, which means that for the first time since

1960 both the actors and the writers are on strike at the same time.

A piece of trivia that I've actually seen over the last few days is that the president

of the screen actors guild at that time was Ronald Reagan.

Ronald Reagan himself, the former US president, a known socialist, rabble rouser.

Yeah.

Apparently the 1960 strike was when the actors got health and pension and residuals I think.

Yeah, all very fundamental things that would be hard to imagine unions without those

things.

And that was 1960 that those things were achieved.
