Summary
Rick Baker, former Mayor of St. Petersburg and Adjunct Fellow to the Manhattan Institute, turned a tent city into a thriving city by getting people back to work, getting the schools and community on board. His book Seamless City addresses just how critical work and independence means to the urban community. Mayor Baker was able to win 90% of the black community’s vote as a staunch conservative because his solutions worked. He was named the number 1 mayor of the nation by Governing.com, and today he joins to talk about solutions, not the problems for cities like Baltimore, Philly, Detroit, San Francisco, and San Diego; just to name a few.
